Non-memory Stopwatches
Non-memory stopwatches are basic, entry-level timing devices designed for simple, single-event tasks. Unlike memory-equipped models, they cannot store or recall previously recorded lap or split times.
Key Characteristics
- Simple Operation: Usually features a streamlined three-button interface: Start/Stop, Reset, and sometimes a basic Split button.
- Real-time Display Only: These devices only show the current running time or the most recent split. Once the timer is reset or a new event starts, the previous data is permanently lost.
Core Functions
- Start/Stop (Time Out): Allows the user to pause and resume timing during a single event.
- Reset: Clears all data on the display and returns the timer to zero.
- Cumulative Split (Basic): Some models can briefly freeze the display to show a split time, but this data is not saved for later review.
