What is a pedometer?
A pedometer is a small electronic device, which clips onto your belt or other appropriate part of your clothing and records the number of steps you take based on the jolting movement the body makes when walking, jogging or running. The pedometer displays the number of steps taken as a digital number.
A more sophisticated pedometer will also give you the distance you have walked, the calories you have burned and will also tell you how long you have been walking for by way of a stopwatch.
If you like measuring things with gadgets, a pedometer is fun to use. But it has a more useful job to do.
